A 72-year-old doctor from Manhasset, Long Island, has been charged with sexual abuse and forcible touching of a patient at a Woodhaven urgent care facility.
Amir Sitafalwalla was arrested on September 9 by detectives from the Queens Special Victims Squad and arraigned at Queens Criminal Court.
According to court documents, the alleged incident occurred on August 14 at ModernMD Urgent Care on Jamaica Avenue. The 21-year-old male patient reported that during his appointment, Sitafalwalla instructed him to lower his pants before inappropriately touching him without consent.
The doctor allegedly made inappropriate comments about the patient’s anatomy, as detailed in the criminal complaint.
This is not the first accusation against Sitafalwalla. In March 2023, he was charged with a similar crime stemming from an incident in January of that year. A young man had come in for a COVID-19 test, during which Sitafalwalla allegedly forced a kiss on him.
Both cases are scheduled for a court hearing on November 13.
