By Brynmor Pattison - Irish Mirror - 18.09.2016 - [IRELAND] - Gardai are probing an alleged rape in a hospital after a woman made a complaint this week.
The patient, who had undergone a procedure at the Bon Secours Hospital in Tralee, Co Kerry, is understood to have been in a changing room when the incident is alleged to have occurred on September 10.
She is believed to have been changing back into her clothes after an appointment when she alleges that a medic entered the room and raped her.
A complaint was made and the woman was taken to Cork University Hospital for a specialist examination later that day and DNA samples were taken.
Alliance Medical provides diagnostic services and staff to hospitals. A spokeswoman for the company said. “We wish to alleviate the concerns of patients and the public by making clear that the individual involved is no longer an employee of Alliance Medical and is no longer working at the hospital."
“Alliance Medical is conducting a full internal investigation into the alleged incident.”
A formal statement was then given to Gardai, who are now investigating and will be taking a look at the hospital's CCTV footage.
The Sunday World reported that the medic has not been arrested but is denying any allegations.
